    Does each player get to choose his/her action cards for turn 1, or are they dealt randomly as in the other turns?

    In the Basic game they are dealt randomly.

    In the Advanced game you get to choose your cards in the 9th April turn, and then cards are dealt randomly in the first regular turn and all subsequent turns.
